When I pushed you to go faster and farther than you could,
I wanted you to surpass where I had once stood.
When I said, “I do,” but could not follow through,
I later discovered to myself I had been untrue.
I followed the mass and the worldly beliefs,
Which led me astray while to others it brought grief.
I cannot change what I did to you;
I acted out from what I believed was true.
No excuses or justifications,
Only confessions and pitiful explanations.
If any of you were harmed due to my insurrection,
I pray that you have since been healed and absolve my imperfections.
You all know who you are and it is up to you
To let go of the past and make room for the new.
Any forgiveness you grant me I humbly accept,
And for those who will not acquit me,
I shall revisit you in hopes that you forgive me my debts.
